Firstly, take a very soft cloth and wipe on the DVD in order to remove the dirt from it. Start wiping from the center of the disc and then move towards its edge. Ensure that you do not wipe the disc in the circular motion. This may create scratches on the DVD which will reduce the performance of the disc. It is good to use a soft cloth for dusting your disc but, on the other hand, the microfiber cloth gives a better result. The reason is the dust gets stick to the microfiber cloth which prevents the scratches.
If you find more than the dust particles on your DVD, then make a solution of 1:1 ratio of water and rubber alcohol. This is considered to be one of the best solutions for cleaning the finger prints or any type of oily substances on the DVD. If there are more scratches on the DVD, then you can even use toothpaste on it.
